MANAGING HAZARDOUS WASTE The hazardous waste discussed here are the biological, chemical, and radioactive waste after decontamination and during isolation procedures. The waste handling after decontamination will be located in Appendix III: Decontamination Procedures. This would also include the waste that would accumulate if vendors were not available for pick up due to the disaster. Maintaining the current list of vendors and back-up vendors is crucial. Oro Valley Hospital manages hazardous materials spills by contacting Golder Ranch Fire Department as a primary contact and Northwest Fire Department as a secondary contact for decontamination assist teams and waste disposal by Stericycle Company. In addition, Oro Valley Hospital provides for radioactive, biological, and chemical isolation and decontamination by training and maintaining our own response team. |
