ALTERNATIVE UTILITIES During an emergency, the organization will provide alternate means for providing essential utility systems as identified in the management plan. These utility systems will be identified as well as alternate means for providing the services. The organization will assess the requirements needed to support these systems such as fuel, water, and supplies for a period of time identified in the Inventory of Assets. This assessment shall include the requirements for 96 hours without community support. The alternative means for these sources are located in the Inventory of Assets (Form II). The alternative utility systems and supplies networks shall include, but not be limited to the following: 1.Emergency power supply system Alternate source: On-Site Emergency Generator Alternate source: CHS Mobile generators – Contact Regional Engineer. See Corporate Disaster Plan. 2.Water supplies for equipment, consumption, and sanitary usage. Alternate source: Bottled Water and Oro Valley Water for potable consumption Golder Ranch Fire Department for non-potable tanker trucks and 55 gallon drums Oro Valley Hospital Out-patient therapy pool Wal-Mart Target 3.Fuel supplies for operations and transportation. Alternate source: Arizona Petroleum Company Storage tank for Diesel fuel 4.Ventilation systems. Alternate source: Portable Fans Open Windows If electrical available: Portable A/C or Swamp Coolers 5.Medical gas systems. Alternate source: Bottled Oxygen Tanks (“H” “E”) 6.Vacuum systems. Alternate source: Portable/Battery Powered Suction Units 7.Other essential utilities. Alternate source: Port-a-Potties Walmart for plastic bags and kitty litter for commodes |
